Who doesn’t love fish tacos?

Preparing and eating the catch is an essential part of spearfishing. While its always fun to experiment with new rescipes, its good to have a few tried and true dishes. Fish tacos are definitely a go-to meal for us here at OSS!

This one’s pretty simple. -Fresh fish (fried or grilled)

-Mango Salsa

-Red Cabbage Slaw

-Lime Crema

-Cheese of your choice (I like cheddar)

Fish

My favorite tacos use fried fish, but you can opt for the slightly healthier grilled fish. Whatever your method, make sure to use smaller chunks of fish, so the taco

stays together as you bite into it!

Mango Salsa

Combine all ingredients and let stand in the fridge (at least an hour but overnight is better)

3 mangos cubes (1/2”), 1 bell pepper chopped, 1/2 cup red onion chopped, 1/4 cup cilantro chopped, 1 jalapeño, 1-2 limes juiced, salt to taste.

Red Cabbage Slaw

Like the salsa, combine ingredients and let stand

1/2 head of shredded red cabbage, 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro, 2 carrots shredded, 1/3 cup of rice vinegar, 1/2 tbl sugar, 1/2 tbl honey, salt and pepper to taste.

Lime Crema

Combine all ingredients. 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 tbl minced cilantro, 1-2 limes juiced

Now the fun part! Combine on a tortilla shell and enjoy! Don’t forget the hot sauce!!!
