Learn To Dive, Safer and Deeper!
Ocean State Speargun's owner and craftsman Matt Novakovich is not only passionate about spearguns and spearfishing, but also about educating divers on how to dive safer and more efficient. A FII (Freediving Instructors International) certified instructor, Matt will walk you through both academic and practical in-water learning experiences.
Whether a complete beginner or an informally trained freediver/spearfisherman with years of experience, this course will set you on the right path to eliminate bad habits and show you the most efficient and safe freedive techniques.
2026 Courses
Classes consist of a morning of classroom instruction, followed by a confined water session in the afternoon. The open water dive session takes place on the following morning.
Classes are held in Jamestown, Rhode Island, unless otherwise specified.
